Chhabi was born and raised in Nepal. She grew up in a home where hospitality was a way of life. Ever since young, she enjoyed helping her mother and sisters prepare meals for guests after school. Spending her early years in her hometown which is located in a Hilly region where access to imported food is very limited, made her believe in eating seasonal, local and organic produce.
